The Honeywell Easy to Care Warm Mist Humidifier can also use Protec Humidifier Cleaning Balls. Protec Antimicrobial Cleaning Cartridges feature a patented antimicrobial, Aquastat that continuously works to hinder the growth of bacteria and mold. They're also capable of preventing the buildup of slime in the water and humidifier surfaces. Protec Antimicrobial Cleaning Cartridges work in all humidifiers and are safe/non-toxic. Aquastat contains no harsh chemicals or harsh acids making the cleaning action just as gentle as water on your humidifier surfaces and components.
When your warm mist humidifier is out of water, the Reset Light will illuminate. To reset, please refer to the following steps:
- Turn Power OFF.
- Pour up to 1.5 gallons of water into the Fill Area.
- Wait 5 minutes and turn the power ON.
To keep this warm might humidifier working efficiently, clean it every week. Do this near a faucet in your kitchen or bathroom on a water-resistant surface.
Before You Start:
- Turn Off and Unplug: Make sure the humidifier is off and unplugged. If it's been used recently, wait at least 20 minutes for it to cool down.
- Remove Parts: Take off the cover, mist chimney, heating element cover, and float.
Cleaning Steps:
- Vinegar Soak: Pour 3 cups of white vinegar into the water tank. Let it soak for 20 minutes to remove mineral buildup.
- Scrub Heating Element: Gently scrub the heating element with a soft brush. Avoid using harsh brushes or abrasives.
- Rinse: Empty the vinegar and rinse the tank until there's no vinegar smell left.
Dishwasher-Safe Parts:
The top cover, mist chimney, and heating element cover can be cleaned in the dishwasher on the top rack. Other parts of the humidifier should not be put in the dishwasher.
