Customer Reviews For The First Alert 10-Year Sealed Battery Low Profile Smoke Alarm - PR710
We needed to replace an aging First Alert Smoke Alarm on a high ceiling. The location is very challenging to access when we do our yearly battery replacement. Through the excellent website I was able to read about options. I then contacted customer service. 5 Stars to the person who helped me. He recommended the 10-year Sealed Battery after listening to our situation. We ordered from the First Alert Store online and received it in 2-3 days. Wow!! It's rare to be so happy with every step of the process. Kudos!
First one started chirping so I took it down and read the date that I scribed on the back which was 3-25-12. Time for a new one!!!!! PS: the official mfgr date was Oct 14, 2010, THEY WORK AS DESCRIBED.
Decided to use the 10 year included battery for these rather than trying to remember to change batteries for smoke detectors. They always start chirping at 3 or 4 AM and drive the dogs crazy scared. Now I have 10 years of protection and comfort.
Very courteous personnel when I had to call my phone ordered online but I made a mistake and very well taken care of by a voice a persons voice her name was Eva thank you for all your courtesies and everything seems to be just fine I certainly will recommend thank you Janet care
As expected.

Finally....something I don't have to check annually...awesome...First Alert without hassles of annoying yearly beeps! Luv it!
These are easy to install to replace the 9-volt units that are not to code any longer.
We got these quickly and they have worked great so far.
We recently bought a new home that underwent remodeling several years ago. The previous owner installed first alert smoke alarms in each room. We decided to replace all alarms after one reached the 10 year life span. We were able to find the same alarms and installed easily. All very good quality.
I was concerned that these would be difficult to install. These were a breeze.
Great customer service. We ordered the wrong smoke alarms but your kind customer service rep guided us in the right direction because of this we told our neighbors and they also will be ordering smoke alarms from you. It is so nice dealing with a great company with great customer service that when you call they say no problem. Thanks for your understanding.
We ordered this to replace the previous model. The mounting unit lined up with the same holes as the original, so install was easy. In the short time we've had it, it has worked as expected.
Great price
Smoke alarms can beep for to the following reasons:
- Low Battery: This is the most common cause. Most smoke detectors use a chirping sound (usually a single beep every 30-60 seconds) to warn you that the batteries are running low and need to be replaced. Don't wait until the alarm is silent - replace the batteries right away to ensure your smoke alarm continues to function properly.
- End of Life: Smoke alarms don't last forever. If your smoke detector is beeping constantly or in a different pattern than the low battery chirp, it may be nearing the end of its intended lifespan and should be replaced altogether.
10-Year Sealed Photoelectric Battery Smoke Alarm
The First Alert PR710 Slim Photoelectric Smoke Alarm with 10-Year Battery helps protect your home by providing up to a decade of uninterrupted monitoring. This low-profile smoke alarm uses an ultra-reliable photoelectric sensor to detect smoke from slow-burning, smoldering fires. Half as thick as a standard alarm, this detector has a slim, contemporary design that mounts unobtrusively on a wall or ceiling. A built-in 10-year lithium metal battery provides continuous power, with no need to ever worry about changing the battery over the lifetime of the smoke detector.
Photoelectric Sensor Warns of Smoldering Fires
The First Alert PR710 alarm comes equipped with a photoelectric sensor to provide the earliest possible warning of fire. The sensor is optimized to detect larger smoke particles produced by smoldering fires, such as those caused by unextinguished cigarettes. It also distinguishes between real threats and smoke/vapor produced during showering, cooking, and other everyday activities, helping minimize the number of false alarms. A patented smoke entry system helps ensure reliable detection by providing a direct air pathway to the sensor.
Built-In 10-Year Battery
The First Alert PR710 10-Year Photoelectric Smoke Alarm features a built-in 10-year lithium battery that provides continuous power for the life of the detector. An end-of-life timer lets you know when the device should be replaced.
Sleek, Low-Profile Design
Half as thick as a standard alarm, the First Alert PR710 Photoelectric Smoke Alarm packs premium detection features into a sleek, compact unit. The ultra-thin design features a white finish that blends seamlessly with most home decor.
Battery-Powered Alarm Installs Easily
This battery-powered smoke detector requires no rewiring and no electrician to install. Simply mount it on a wall or ceiling using the versatile twist-lock mounting bracket. An end-of-life signal will notify you when the detector is nearing expiration.
Alerts You to Danger
When smoke is detected, the smoke alarm sounds a loud 85-decibel siren that is designed to wake even the soundest of sleepers. A single button allows you to silence alarms and test if the device is working.
