I have been using it for about 10 days. Works fine. 1 gallon lasts about 24 hours on low and 12 hours on high. I have hard water so the heating element gets calcium deposits after just one gallon used so it must be cleaned and decalcified often. Consequently I have switched to distilled water. I do wish it had a medium setting. It is pretty quiet even on high although my wife likes a little background noise when sleeping, so sound is a relative thing. The only thing that bothered her a little at first was the bubbling sound that happens ever once in a while when water drains from the water canister to the base heating unit. She got used to that quickly.
